A strange sketchbook inspired by Facebook.

Social media is strange. It can help revolutions,
it can bring minorities together and it can be trivial too…
but everyone has something to say about it.

Facebook is the strangest of all. If it isn’t documented
on Facebook, did it ever happen at all? It has become
a big part of our daily lives purely because it is so
easy to use, interact with and connect to “friends”.

As humans, we are only capable of processing an inner
circle of about 150 friends – Dunbar’s Number. This figure
was released in the 1990s by Robin Dunbar, a professor
of evolutionary anthropology, who documented that the
part of the brain dealing with language and personal
interaction can not cope with any more information
produced by having more friends. This implies that
our Facebook friends are mostly virtual and we really
only interact with a core few; even if you do gain kudos
for having over a thousand friends.

This is a strange sketch book about the strange
relationships that Facebook can cause or influence.
